What is NAC used for?

NAC is an antioxidant precursor that helps the body produce glutathione .

Its established medical uses include treating paracetamol (acetaminophen) overdose and, in certain formulations, thinning mucus.

It is also marketed for liver support, antioxidant therapy and wellness IV drips, although evidence for these wellness uses is limited.
